National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga for management of Covid-19

National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga for the management of Covid-19”, a milestone in the rapidly evolving scenario of the pandemic, was released by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India in October 2020.This protocol takes Ayush disciplines one step closer to the common man in the difficult times of the pandemic. It is based on Ayurveda and Yoga’s proven ability to augment the preventive care guidelines for COVID19 issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga will end ambiguity around deploying Ayurveda and Yoga based solutions for the Clinical management of Covid-19. The subsequent versions of the Protocol will cover other disciplines of Ayush as well. This Protocol also provides clear guidance to Ayush practitioners of the said two disciplines on the right approach to treat patients in different conditions of Covid. This would help bring in uniformity and consistency in the Ayush-based responses across the country and also help state governments to plan and incorporate these solutions into the Covid 19 response activities.
