The officers and staff of the Embassy of India in Yangon and those of its Consulates in Mandalay and Sittwe are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing away of U Pyi Soe, Consul General of Myanmar in Kolkata, in a tragic road accident in India this morning (27 October 2017).
U Pyi Soe’s contribution as a diplomat and as a friend of India will always be warmly remembered. His wife and aides, who were injured in the accident, are receiving medical attention.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of U Pyi Soe. We pray for peace for his soul.
