Visit of INS Rajput to Yangon from 11-13 May 17

Indian Naval Ship Rajput, a guided missile destroyer visited Yangon from 11-13 May, 2017. The ship was given a traditional welcome and received by CommodoreThant Sin Lay Deputy Commander Naval Dockyard. Captain Rizwan Ali Shah, Commanding Officer called on H.E. Shri Vikram Misri, Ambassador of India in Myanmar and Commodore Nay Win, Commander, Ayeyarwady Naval Regional Command and also laid a wreath at Yangon War Cemetery. During the visit, Indian Naval personnel visited the Myanmar Naval Training Command and Myanmar Navy personnel and 160 under trainee sea/air cadets visited the ship and were given a guided tour and interacted with junior officers onboard. A friendly volleyball match was also played with Myanmar navy personnel. Personnel from the ship also visitedThanlyin Orphanage School and distributed stationary and food items to students of the orphanage as a good will gesture.
