Admission opened to Indian Embassy Cultural Wing Yoga Classes

            The Cultural Wing of the Embassy of India, Yangon is pleased to announce the commencement of registration for new batch of Yoga classes in the Embassy premises. The regular classes of the registered students will commence from the 2nd of January, 2015. Yoga an ancient art of India aims to unite the body, mind and soul of the practitioners. The Yoga teacher Mr. Sanjay Kumar will impart three styles of Yoga during the current term, namely, Ashtanga yoga, Hatha Yoga and Bihar School of Yoga.

Ashtanga yoga represents the eight limbs of yoga. The first four limbs - yama, niyama, asana and pranayama—are considered external cleansing practices while the next four limbs - pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and Samadhi are internal cleansing practices.

Hatha yoga consists of six limbs defined as asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samādhi. It includes disciplines, postures (asana ), purification procedures (shatkriya ), gestures (mudra ), breathing (pranayama), and meditation .

Bihar School of Yoga is based on traditional yoga techniques focusing onthe qualities of head, heart and hands – intellect, emotion and action. It is a holistic system which addresses all aspects of human life in the spheres of physical health, mental well-being, emotional behaviour and work environment.

The timings of the yoga classes will be as follows:

06.00 AM to 07.00 AM

Wednesday, Friday, Sunday

07.00 AM to 08.00 AM

Beginner Evening

06.00 PM to 07.00 PM

Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

Advance Evening

07.00 PM to 08.00 PM

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Any interested person may come and register at Embassy of India between December 10-23, 2014 during 8.00 – 8.45 AM and 4.00 – 5.00 PM. A one-time token registration fee of USD 8 will be charged for each registration.
